Moes. I love this place way too much. It's sort of a delightful problem. The build your own everything is probably the best. Love the chipotle chicken quesadilla too! And my favorite, which I would eat everyday is the queso dip!

My husband is a burrito guy, frankly if you put meat into a tortilla he is there. I read about Moe's online and heard they had big burritos so of course we had to go there. This is James' fave of the burrito places, I am more of a Chipotle girl as I think the chicken here can run dry. We both get the Homewrecker burritos, I have chicken and James gets steak. Both are tasty but I prefer the chicken. They also have a pulled pork option as well as ground beef or tofu. You can add your choice of black beans or pintos, rice, cheese, lettuce, pico de gallo, guacamole, sour cream, onions, cilantro and various type peppers and extras. I of course have almost everything and extra cilantro and James goes basic with lots of cheese and sour cream. Moes will make it however you want it. The results are huge. I cannot usually finish my burrito and James barely makes it. We get them in a combo which includes tasty white queso or guacamole side with tortilla chips and a drink. .They have a salsa bar here with five different types, including one very hot variety and a tomatillo salsa, I have tried all and they are just ok. The quesadilla is better for a smaller appetite. The nachos and tacos look just ok but the salads are terrific in their nice sized tortilla bowls. They have fajitas but I have never tried them for myself. So if you are bored with your bargain places and have a good appetite, give Moe's a whirl. They will make it just how you like it and give you plenty. Even without a coupon it's a deal! Sign up for their e club and get a freebie burrito on your birthday!

So where is Larry and Curly? I only found one of the stooges! Ok, another trip to AA and my daughter wants to try something different...I had been to a Moe's in Madison Heights but has since closed. She being a big burrito fan I thought we would try this place since she hadn't been there and our great Yelpers give this a good rating. Unfortunately Burger Boy was in the mood for a burger, but they don't have any here. Since I am on somewhat of a diet(10 # so far) I opted for the salad called Close Talker. Grilled chicken, some cheese(not much) onions and peppers, and some southwest vinagrette dressing. It was pretty good. It came with some of their chips and I picked the hot sauce. I also added the hot sauce to the salad. All in all pretty good. All I can say is, thank God I am not a vegan. I can only eat so much of this stuff...My daughter had a burrito(Joey Bag of Donuts) and she was pleasantly surprised I picked a decent place to go.

Moe's offers the best Mexican fast food IMO. Tons of options with fresh ingredients. Nothing mind blowing or spectacular but consistently decent. Remember that this is fast food and you won't be disappointed. As an added bonus they've now got the first Coke Freestyle I've come in contact with. Having 100 drink options is just awesome - these should be everywhere!

Moe's is great!. This location had a great staff. The condiment bar was clean. Great for vegetarians. Unfortunately, there was no beer at this location.

Its a young place - the employees and customers. In a strip mall on a busy Ann Arbor road. Its a step up from fast food, but not that much. I ask myself if it has the value for the cost and I'm not sure it does. Its a food assembly line approach - build your food as you watch, Lots of fixing options but nothing too different from most places, pick your protein option and add beans, rice, cheese and veggies. With a self serve Salsa bar at the end. Chips were greasy and the burrito I order had warm and cold zones in it. The place need a good cleaning - from tables to chairs to the floor needing a good mopping.

I'm in love with the queso cheese here. If anyone is a fan of Azecta on the West Coast this cheese is the closest by far to theirs, I want this on a weekly basis, it is so good! This place blows away places like Chipotle, because here at Mo's based on what you order you can get all the extras for free, like guacamole, sour cream, and they will even let you mix up your meats! It's so fresh and tasty! I especially enjoy the salsa bar! On Monday they have $5 burrito and chips, and that is an awesome deal!

The whole family went here for dinner based on the Yelp reviews. We were on the wrong side of town to go to our favorite Mexican place. My wife got the Instant Friend quesadilla. She liked it. The grilled veggies were nice. Her only concern was that there were a few too many bell peppers. She got a side of the chicken enchilada soup. We both thought that was good. It had a little spice that built on you. I got the Homewrecker burrito made with pulled pork. I was not impressed. The rice in it was undercooked so some of it was crunchy. The temperature of the ingredients was not uniform either. One bite would be cold and the next hot. I think the person preparing it should have mixed the ingredients a little bit to blend the flavors and make a more consistent temperature. I also got a side of the Chili and was very disappointed. It had a flavor I can only describe as charred. I've tasted this before when something has burned on the bottom of the pot. This tortilla chips were plentiful, but they were very uninspiring. Our kids usually eat lots of chips, but they left these behind. When I mentioned the Yelp special deal nobody knew anything about it, and they wouldn't honor it.

I always try to make it to Moe's every time I'm in town. I used to go out there all the time when I was in college. Love their burritos. They used to have a Monday special (not sure if they still do) which was usually when I went. I've had their Triple Lindy and their Joey Bag of Donuts. They give TONS of chips and have a decent salsa bar. And the price is pretty average compared to Qdoba or Chipotle. Plus...they have Cherry Coke. Don't tell me you wouldn't give it 4 stars just on that.

Ended up here when driving through the neighborhood and was captured by their bright colors. Turns out the coloring is nothing representative of their bland food. The tortilla was cold and tasted like a poorly made homemade burrito, along with the bland beans, flavorless salsa and other ingredients. It's a poor version of Chipotle and Qdoba, so if you don't like them, definitely don't go here.

The place is always "jumping"! The food is tasty, service good and parking easy. The only drawback is the seating is crowded and limited.

There are a lot of things I don't like about Moe's. I have to go to Ann Arbor to get it cuz there are so few locations. I feel bad if I don't get the burrito, but the other menu items are very enticing. My food is so good that I want to finish it all, but it's so big I usually have leftovers. The leftovers are still so tasty, but then there's never enough to be satisfied. Okay, so none of these are real complaints. I love Moe's. I love the burritos most, but I've ventured away from them and not been disappointed at all. I love all the items you can choose from, from the traditional meats, cheese, salsa, and beans, to fresh cut cilantro, different kinds of peppers, and even cucumbers!! All the ingredients come together in a way that makes your mouth happy it belongs to you when you eat at Moe's. I really like the guys who work at the Ann Arbor location. Maybe all Moe's employees are the same, but I wouldn't know. I've only been to one other Moe's (I forget where), and I wasn't paying much attention to the staff. Anyway, the Ann Arbor guys are friendly and funny and actually quite helpful. Since I never knew if I wanted steak, chicken, or just beans, I'd let them tell me which was better for the day. They never failed to step up and recommend against what might not be good, for which I am very grateful, as I have not yet had a bad food experience with them. Also, they used to have a sweet drink deal if you showed them your MCard. Not sure if it's still around b/c mine expired years ago, but take advantage of it if you are a student (or still have an MCard).

Moe's is underrated in Ann Arbor. That is obviously due to it's out of the way location. People only go past it to go to the mall, and I'm not even sure undergrads know that Eisenhower goes past the mall. Moe's has pretty good ingredients and unique menu choices when compared to Pancheros, BTB, Chipotle, Qdoba, or Tios. I think it has a much more complete menu (with the possible exception of Tios) and I don't think there is a single thing with cheese goop (I may be wrong though as I haven't been there for a few years). Always enjoyed going there.

Marginally better than average fast food, televisions visible from every seat. The reviews seemed very promising, but the real thing fell far short. Clean, not very busy on a saturday late afternoon, so were serviced quickly down the assembly line, picking ingredients. We ordered fajitas, which are one of my benchmark menu items. They were edible, considerably better than Taco Bell standards, but not very fresh or good quality ingredients, including chicken chunks* on the dry side. (* Not strips, chunks and crumbly bits.) It's not *bad* food, I wouldn't avoid it like some restaurants, but I won't likely go there again unless invited and interested in the company. For the money, try the Burrito Joint instead.

I'm seriously intrigued... how does Moe's prepare guacamole without flavor? Where do they procure tomatoes, onions (!) and cilantro (!!) without flavor? No, really, I want to know! An actual quote from dinner: "I just ate an onion AND IT DIDN'T TASTE LIKE ONION." My husband then tried an onion and agreed. Same with the cilantro, which kind of tasted like the depressed ghost of yummy cilantro. Huh... it looks like food, it's shaped like food... yet it tastes like nothing. It's kind of spooky. The salsa bar.... oh. Oh no. Which to choose? The allegedly lime one that tasted like dish detergent? The red one that tastes like wet dog? So, I guess I lied... there ARE some flavors at Moe's! I want to like Moe's. They have wheat tortillas and tofu, plus you can add more veggies. But their food just makes me wish I'd gone home and had a piece of toast instead.

My personal favorite of all the "fast burrito" type of quick food. Their queso is really good, and so I must recommend the nachos here. Grilled mushrooms, onions, and peppers add a lot to whatever you decide to try. Also Moe's has the Coke freestyle machine. If you have not tried one of these you need to. You can "spice up" your favorite Coke beverage with an immense array of flavors.

I love this place. The people working there are always really nice. The food is fantastic, especially for the price. I've tried about everything on the menu and have never been disappointed. I think my favorite thing there are the nachos because their queso is so good it's addictive. If you're looking for fast, friendly, and reasonably priced food - this is the place to go!

Had a Living Social coupon so had to try it, since I had alot of good luck with the franchise when I worked out of Dearborn. The food was cold and I had some concerns the safety of eating it since I am sure there are regulations on maintaining food temperatures. I bought several combos and I had to tell the staff what came with it or I would have been out several drinks and a couple cookies. Food itself was ok though listed above cold. Place seemed clean and was not busy.

It really kills me that I have to give Moe's only three stars. I usually love this place, but yesterday my boyfriend and I went in ~5 minutes early for our online in-app order and got chastised by the manager for coming in too early, when at no point did we state that we expected our order to be ready when we got there or even hinted at it. We just didn't have anything else to do except go there and we weren't even that early, but we got bitched out anyways. I felt like the way that the manager handled the "situation" was completely unprofessional and it made me not want to go back again. I'm totally embarrassed to go back in there after being publicly screamed at. Chipotle any good?

  • Margaret V.

Not quite sure I've been here as many times as I have.... Don't get me wrong, the staff have always been really nice, but I don't think the food is that great. I've had their tacos, nachos, and most recently their chicken club quesadilla. The location is convenient to the mall, big house, highway, etc.... They supposedly offer catering, but I've never tried it. They have cute names for their foods..... I would say you get a lot of food for your money, but it simply isn't great. Their chips and salsa bar are good. I love all the selections in their soda machine, but I don't think I will be back any time soon.

I felt so so so sick after eating here. My stomach felt terrible. Then I puked after almost half an hour. Then I threw up again. My boyfriend very felt sick too. Don't go there!! Never going back again. Never. It wasn't even good. I wonder if the food they use is expired.

Good not great. Well, more adequate than good. I had the standard burrito (Joey Bag of Donuts) on a whole grain tortilla with tofu. I liked that they have tofu as a protein option (I don't live near a Chipotle with the option for Sofritas), and that there is an option for whole grain tortilla. The free chips and salsa bar is also a nice touch. I didn't get a soda but the soda machine in there appeared to have an endless array of options. Finally, for me personally, the location is very convenient. The reason I don't think it's even close to Chipotle is mainly the taste. The burrito I ordered was just so bland. Bottom line: Adequate in a pinch if I'm hungry and desiring convenience but I would not go out of my way to go come here.

Seriously? What would make anyone choose this craptacular over Chipotle or QDoba or even BTB is beyond me. The decor is kitchy and annoying. This is the TGIFridays of Fresh Mex. And most importantly the food. Blech. In no way does this compare with ANY other burrito place in A2. Go to Salsaritas. Taco Bell. ANYWHERE but here. The quality of the food is horrible. I immediately wanted to throw my burrito back in their faces, as I felt that I had been insulted. I'm sticking with Chipotle.

This place got me through my undergraduate years. I crave the Art Vandelay like nothing else in this world. With Hard Rock sauce. Love the staff, love the $0.25 student drinks, love the music. A nice place where vegetarians and omnivores can dwell in harmony. The burritos have a better variety of ingredients, especially veggies, than either of those other awful chains.

  • Erskine U.

I used to go to Moe's for a tasty filling meal that was a step above Taco Bell at a moderate price. When I went in last week, I was surprised to see that they eliminated the Triple Lindey burrito from the menu and raised the price on pork and steak burritos. When I opened my take out meal, I found that the top of the line Homewrecker burrito was heavy on rice and light on meat. Higher prices and lower quality=two thumbs down.

I guess I just don't get why people dig this place. Its ok. A little pricey if you ask me. It doesn't exude freshness. Maybe I just haven't had the right thing. I've gotten the soft tacos and its got too much stuff on it. I like value so I can't say no beans. The thing is, all the ingredients just soak through and its a big mess.

  • Andrew M.

Moe's is always a favorite. Lots of food at a decent price. I'm always sleepy after eating a whole burrito (usually a Joey Bag 'o Donuts), but on the occasions where I have restrained myself, the Chicken Club Quesadilla and Full Monte (tacos) are also very good. Just like any other tex-mex place, it's all the same food just packaged differently. One gripe about this location, the sweet tea is not very good. Transplanted southerners like myself need our sweet tea, and since this is the only place I've found it I have no other options.

While I have yet to actually get food poisoning here...I don't think I will play this game of Russian roulette any longer. The place is just looking dirtier and dirtier every time I go and I always go during non-rush hours. Floors, tables, chairs are simply dirty and need to be cleaned. The behind the counter scene is the same. Dirty dishes stacked up on the back counter area, the cutting board has visible brown streaks in it were old food and dirt have become trapped in the knife marks. This can be easily cleaned by soaking the board in bleach; this place just doesn't do it. There is trash scattered on the floor behind the counter such as balls of scrunched up aluminum foil and bits of fallen food from the production line. My biggest concern stems from the employees not covering the items in the production line. All the items should be covered with lids. This is to help keep hot food hot and cold food cold. There were no lids in sight. This especially concerns me because, it was in the low 90's today and such items as sour cream, guacamole, rice, beans, meat, chicken etc were uncovered. The rice was so full that it was overflowing and actually couldn't have been covered if they had tried (which is not the correct fill level for items). This also led to the rice becoming dried out and therefore, the rice on my burrito was crunchy...pretty yuck! My burrito itself was room temperature. The chicken was indeed not hot, neither were the beans or rice. Therefore, my cheese wasn't even melted. While the employees seem friendly enough; I fear it is only a matter of time before a food borne illness outbreak is linked to this location. I implore you to send someone to retrain the manager of the store and the employees regarding safe serve practices.

The food was good, but overall cleanliness not so much. Tables were dirty, floors were dirty, and even the station where they make food was a mess.

Ok, so the original review was almost 2 years ago and yes, a bit of a traumatic experience LOL I went visiting my sister in NC and we were at Crabtree Mall and I needed something 'mexican' and Moe's was the only thing there so I decided to give them a try again (of course not attempting the nachos). I got 2 tacos...delicious! I like that you can add all their extras for free, like cilantro and FRESH jalapenos, not just the soggy, jarred ones that most places only offer. Though, they are kinda pricey, like $3 a taco, for a pretty standard size (and they get soggy/fall apart quickly). SO the next day we were back, instead of spending $6-7 on only 2 tacos, I spent roughly the same amount on a 'burrito bowl', loaded it with my same taco extras and they give out chips for free--which stay crunchy on the side, unlike the taco shell (why ever pay for the nachos entree? They cost more than a bowl for some reason but the chips are free...) The filling in the bowl is equal to at least 4 tacos, my sister and I split it, and it's the same price as 2 tacos! Very yummy. Made me sad to realize there's no Moe's close to me at home in MI, I no longer work in Ann Arbor where my original visit took place. But now I can say, as long as I don't order anything with that dreadful queso on it, Moe's is actually quite tasty! :)

I thought this place was fine. The prices seemed a bit steep for what you get, I think. I ordered a burrito bowl with marinated tofu ($7.99? something like that), and it came with free tortilla chips (but not the advertised salsa). The bf got a taco salad with chicken & queso and a 6 oz side of guacamole ($3.09). I think we were rung up incorrectly, but we were both pretty hungry and didn't really care. The food tasted okay. I think the best part of my experience was two of the employees working behind the counter. One was Deanna who noticed that we were not given soda cups with our combo and brought them out to us. (We didn't really want soda and just filled them with water, but the fact that she went the extra mile really impressed us!) Did not catch the name of the dude behind the counter, but he had a lot of personality, which made for a fun dining experience.

I came here for lunch when I was in town for a conference. It was quick and I was craving Mexican food. I'm usually a Qdoba type of girl but there wasn't one nearby so I decided to give Moe's a shot. I got the Earmuffs, basically a chicken burrito bowl. The weird names thing is a bit cumbersome. Anyway, I digress. I got rice, black beans, chicken, guac, sour cream, cheese, tomato, lettuce, and fresh jalapenos. They made it quickly and I got a big bag of chips to go. I guess they give you chips with every order? The chips were actually pretty good. I'm not usually a chip fan unless I get salsa but they were good. The chicken was well seasoned and not fatty. However, they put a ton of jalapenos on my food. I like spicy food so it wasn't the end of the world but just be careful when asking for spicy stuff to be added.

  • Shirley H.

Okay, I lied. I came back to M's because my friend was feelin tex-mex, so I figured sure, I'll give them another shot. I ordered chicken nachos and ended up getting a steak-hot-mess soup. I liked that they gave me an option of having chips on the side, so one star for that. But the just like last time, the queso had more of a liquid consistency, that it ruined the whole dish. The steak was also really chewy and fatty, that I really had to chew on them for a good minute. I guess that could be a good thing, since I normally inhale food when I'm starving. The other star is for the drink machine, that offers Dr. Pepper. Big kiddos for that! If I end up back here for whatever reason, I might stick with a quesadilla.

Stopped in for a quick bite while traveling for work, never heard of the place, but had a taste for southwestern fast food. Ordered a menu item called a "stack." A large tortilla wrapped around two tostadas, sandwiched around steak, beans, corn relish, and choice of several ingredients, then grilled! Pretty tasty!

Meh is about right when it comes to Moe's- I used to frequent the one in Madison Heights when I lived there, but this one in Ann Arbor has just seen better days I think. The atmosphere is fine, and the plus 1 star is for the soda fountain that gives you endless drink options, including diet ginger ale which I love. However, when the food is mediocre to bland, its not a good thing if the best item is the pop machine. I got the Joey Bag of Donuts which is basically the burrito without beans and while the toppings you could put on top of the steak were good, they nickeled and dimed you on the sour cream, guacamole, queso, everything. And while the burrito itself was ok, the tortilla was flavorless, and the filling kind of shifted all the protein to the bottom of the burrito so all I could taste was the pico de gallo and sour cream in every bite. The steak was dry and not even warm. The chips and salsa are ok- nothing you can't get at a GFS or Costco. Yes, having free chips and salsa instead of paying for them at Chiptole or Qdoba may be a bonus, but when the burrito that is serving as the meal part of the meal is a tasteless mass of fixings, I cannot recommend this place over the Chipotle at Briarwood mall. I would much rather have a good, well-made, tasteful burrito at Chipotle than the diet ginger ale at Moe's. I will not be surprised if the Bagger Dave's (which i have not yet tried) next door buys them out to expand their dining room.

Ok - did you know that Moe's is doing a promo on Sept 20th. Free queso. Oh yeah. I have to admit, I like the queso at Qdoba better (just because it's spicier), but there is just nothing not to like here. Awesome Coke fountain with 100+ combo settings for what and how you like your Coke beverage. Fresh food. Super nice servers. chips with every meal and a salad bar even a salad hater wouldn't mind. Saw a sign for cheap combos on a certain day and time. I wish I could remember. I'd come back that day, but I am sure my hubs will drag me back for the free queso day. He loves that white gold!

  • Terrell O.

The food was nothing special, the guacamole was very bland and disappointing. Save your money and go to Chipotle (or Tacos Del Mar) if there is one nearby. If you are at the hotel next door, go to the burger place or the chinese place instead.

  • Suze A.

I'm a big fan of burritos and was super excited to check out this place. I'm a little disappointed that nearly everything had tomatoes included (damn allergies) and my overall meal was a little lacking on the veggies, but the flavor was very good and I was happy with the amount of food I got for the price. The queso dip was delicious and I liked I got chips on the side.

  • Meg Z.

Oh Moe's, how I miss thee. I used to live within walking distance, and let me tell you I needed to walk after all the burrito I would consume! Love the black beans, love the vegetarian choices, love the salsa variety's, love the guys who yell "Welcome to Moe's!". I would definitely choose Moe's over Chipotle, if only for the more original concept. Yum in my tum!

Only time i really visit here is for somebody birthday because if you sign up with the email program then you get a free entree. Another perk here is the salsa bar (5 types), the free chips they give you with the meal, and the interactive pop machine with over 100 choices. Now for the food itself, i had the chicken nachos, which are pretty good and huge. The only negative i would say about the nachos is that while the queso is good, it is rich tasting. Also had the steak tacos which are excellent, and had the burrito, which is very mediocre, nothing to write home about. Overall, this place does have a lot of choices and it does have some good food, however it will always play second fiddle to chipolte .

  • Caroline C.

Holy crap was this place horrible. And I'm usually a fan of cheap trashy texmex fast food. The staff was incompetent and unfriendly. The place was dirty. The food was so bland neither my boyfriend nor I got through more than a few bites. How do you make guacamole taste like iceberg lettuce? It's such a mystery to me. And I'm sorry, but "salsa bar" just isn't a good idea. I wanted to like it, but I couldn't get over the thought that some patrons bandaid might have fallen into the mix. Save yourself the trauma and just go to qdoba or chipotle (both nearby). I won't be forgetting this meal soon, and not in a good way.

  • Dottie P.

Before it closed down, my friends and I used to go to the Moe's near work every so often. And every time we would gripe about the food, and wish someone would open up a Qdoba nearby. Now there is a Qdoba in that spot and all is well. It surprises me to see this Moe's still operating. I didn't realize there was a big market for bland 900 calorie burritos here. I have not tried anything else on the menu, so maybe there are redeeming qualities, but I am so happy Chipotle and Qdoba are so close that I probably won't be back to find out.

  • Josh C.

It distresses me that this is the only Moe's in the general vicinity. I used to work for one way back in the day, and (despite being food service) I loved it. Keeping in mind this is a Tex-Mex fast food joint, this place is awesome. As much as I enjoy Chipotle, I willing drive past Chipotle and Qdoba to come to Moe's. Free chips and salsa bar (five varieties) with everything is a nice perk. The ingredients when I come always strike me as much more flavorful than, say, Qdoba, which I'm always about. With things like sauteed mushrooms, peppers and onions, and tofu(!!), on the menu as options, this place has everything necessary to make a vegan happy. Think of it like a Subway-for-Mexican-food. I don't venture across town for it often, but I'm always willing to make occasion for it.

  • Kristen C.

Moe's, you are dead to me. I gave you several chances to make up for your rude employees, your empty salsa bar, and your inconsistent quality, but I'm done. It's already expensive for what it is, but your employees snubbed my coupon and charged me extra to have tofu. I realize it's expensive to have so many meat options, but don't punish the vegetarians to help pay for it. You're losing a good customer, I love burritos more than ANYONE I know. Unfortunately for you, I recognize bad business when I see it and I hope others take note.
